In the first quarter of 2021, the beauty retail app sector saw varying trends across key players on the unified platform in the United States. Sensor Tower's detailed analytics offer insights into the performance of these apps.

Ulta Beauty: Makeup & Skincare experienced a decrease in downloads from 100K in the last week of December to approximately 57K by the end of March. Weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 734K and dipping to around 652K in mid-January before rising back to approximately 686K by March's end.

Sephora US: Makeup & Skincare, on the other hand, saw a slight increase in downloads from 44K in late December to about 40K by the end of March. Active users for Sephora remained relatively stable, with a slight peak of 555K in late March compared to the starting 585K.

Moving on to IPSY: Personalized Beauty, downloads saw a decrease from 24K at the beginning of the period to around 20K at the close of the quarter. The weekly active users showed a slight decrease from 393K to around 358K.

SALLY BEAUTY downloads showed an overall increase from 12K to approximately 16K in early March, followed by a drop to 12K by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a moderate increase from around 23K to 28K in early March, then dropped back to around 24K.

Lastly, Flip.shop had a significant increase in downloads from 5K to nearly 19K in early March, followed by a decrease to around 9K by quarter's end. Active users demonstrated a substantial increase from 5K to 11K in the same early March period, but then declined to about 7K.
